Chapter 151: Sixth Floor
"Your ass!" Zandel finally exploded. "We are so dead! So fucking dead!"
Alvin and Milia looked around nervously. "Just how will we even leave this place? Zandel, since this is the sixth floor, does that mean we might find a Level Six Magic Beast?"
Zandel trembled. "I... I don't know..."
---
To understand how they ended in this place, we need to return a while to the past...
Linfel's group was still in the third floor, following the routes few Maguses and Familiars used. Because Linfel's Magic Sense far surpassed anyone at Level Three or Four, he obviously had an easier time identifying dangers ahead. Traps, magic Beasts, or the Monsters controlled by the Ventis Sect. It didn't matter if they couldn't see as far as Linfel did.
However, there was another advantage to having such a big Magic Sense: the fact that Linfel could find hidden places. According to Zandel, this Dungeon was indeed very similar to games or purpose, so there were even some secret rooms that were created now and then through the Magic Array that operated the entire Dungeon.
He wasn't very hopeful about finding one, though. After all, they would hold big rewards that the Sect couldn't simply give to everyone. Zandel spoke with his groups during the other times he entered this place, and none of them had ever found such hidden rooms, let alone the rewards.
That made sense. After all, Zandel only used the main routes to complete the contracts. Even if he did go to the far away paths, it would still be difficult to find such a place.
Yet, that was exactly what Linfel did. It was different from what happened back in the Canyon, though. Back then, Linfel felt the flow of Magic Energy, and that ended up being the cave where they found the Spiritual Pool and the Level Four Snake Magic Beast. This time, however, his Magic Sense passed through the walls.
Once his Magic Sense hit a physical thing, it would be deterred. So, while Linfel's Magic Energy could go 200 meters of distance in thin air, once aimed at the ground or the walls, the farthest he could see was around 20 meters.
That was more than enough, though. Linfel was walking with his group, looking for the next opponent, when his magic Sense found an empty passage around ten meters deep into the cave walls. Naturally, everyone thought Linfel found a hidden room with the so-called rewards, so they all worked together to open it.
After opening a passage for them to pass through, they followed that path a few tens of meters. Finally, they entered an open area where nothing could be seen. For a moment, they all were a little dejected. There were no rewards, treasures, or whatever. It was as if it was a wasted effort.
It didn't end like that, of course. They still entered the area and began to look for anything else. It was them that Linfel's Magic Sense caught something and called everyone. "There is another path below us," Linfel explained.
They all looked down to the ground, not being able to sense as far as Linfel. "We are quite close to one of the various passage to the fourth floor," Zandel commented. "Could it be another passage into there?"
"So that's where the reward is? Let's take a look!" Linfel didn't wait for an answer and immediately used his Magic Energy to control the earth elements. In a single swoop, the entire ground vanished from under everyone's feet, and they went fell.
Alvin and the others felt like crying, but it was too late. As for Nori and Kefin, they could float, but they wouldn't leave Milia and Zandel behind, so they obviously threw themselves inside as well.
However, they didn't fall just for a few moments. Instead, they kept falling for almost a minute straight. The passage acted like a slider, and they simply couldn't find grip to stop the fall.
Finally, they ended up inside another empty area. Not only that, the passage they had just come in caved right behind their group, making it impossible to turn back.
"Linfel! Couldn't you have waited a little?!" Alvin couldn't help but complain.
"That was too risky," Zandel agreed.
Linfel shrugged. "We were already going to the fourth floor anyway, so why bother? Besides, there might be a treasure here, right? Let's take a look!"
Linfel's words obviously caught everyone's attention. They were already here anyway, so they might as well check it. However, as soon as they took out their MCOMs so they could refresh their maps, the name on the corner of the map made their bodies freeze.
-Fucoes Dungeon: Sixth Floor-
And thus, they were now here.
---
"First, let's go back into previous room and get some rest," Linfel spoke. "If we are to adventure further into the Sixth Floor, we need to recover first."
They all looked at Linfel with angry expressions. It's just that Linfel was also their main hope to leave this place. With his huge Magic Sense, perhaps they can avoid the Magic Beasts and Monsters before finding a way up.
"Let's first think about a plan," Alvin called out. "Linfel, the training is over. We will use all our Magic Channels now." Only on m v|le|mp|yr
"I understand," Linfel wasn't an idiot. "Still, this does work as a training, even if just to check the results of the past week and a half. Zandel is definitely the one to have improved the most since he started from zero. And since he is at Level Four, it should help with our cause."
Zandel didn't know about that. Even since joining Linfel's group, he hasn't been allowed to use all his magic channels at once, so he doesn't know if he truly made progress or not. "I just hope you aren't asking me to take the front."
"That will be me," Alvin immediately volunteered. "Earth Element Maguses are much better for this kind of thing."
Linfel agreed. "Milia and Nori will stay close to Alvin, attacking from the flanks in case we end up fighting something. As for Zandel and Kefin, your Wood Element is very good for support, so you stay on the back. I will obviously be with Alvin."
Zandel sighed in relief for a moment. But then, he remembered how he was Level Four while Milia and Alvin were only at Level Three. He couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed that he was happy to stay on the back. "I..."
Alvin stopped him. "I know what you are thinking. There is no need for you to worry about your higher level, Zandel. I'm much better at controlling Magic Energy, even though my level is lower. With my Earth Element, I have to be at the front. It is that simple."
Linfel also added a piece. "Truth be told, if Alvin and Zandel fought each other, Alvin would most likely win. Zandel, that is the difference between your Magic Energy Controls. Even Milia would give you some work to do, although you probably can win against her since she started to train with me recently as well."
Zandel took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright. Then let's follow your plan."
