Chapter 38 Betrayal
Chapter 38 Betrayal
While Wang Jian was unconscious due to his bloodline upgradation, the Crimson Mammoth Tribe and the Night Dagger Clan collaborated to develop an elaborate strategy to ambush the Miracle Angel Tribe.
On one side, Fen Gen of the Night Dagger Clan expertly persuaded Han Lei regarding a surprise attack on the Crimson Mammoth Tribe.
"You don't need to be worried, Han Lei. Loyal members of my tribe have already discovered their new position, and it's not too far from their previous location."
Han Lei trusted Fen Gen quite a bit. This was all because Fen Gen had assisted the Miracle Angel Tribe by providing them with various supplies and even those ants with which they crippled many warriors of the Crimson Mammoth Tribe.
In fact, Han Lei believed that the poison of those venomous ants must have killed most warriors of the Crimson Mammoth Tribe, while only the experts of the tribe are barely clinging to their lives.
Thus, the danger to this mission could be considered moderate or small.
This would be a historic feat for the Miracle Angel Tribe to completely rout out the Crimson Mammoth Tribe from the Mellow Magnolia Woods.
The Night Dagger Clan members also helped the Miracle Angel Tribe with their preparations for this ambush.
Han Lei and Han Xifeng observed that in this mission, the Night Dagger Clan members actually planned to participate actively.
"Wouldn't this be a bit of an overkill?" Han Lei asked with a wide grin on his face.
"It sure will be," Fen Gen responded while matching that grin.
"That's also good. We can't take any chances against these brutes," Han Lei spoke. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
A day passed, and Wang Jian arrived at the location where the huge battle would take place.
Fen Gen had naturally sent him the address of this battle.
Only twenty or so Crimson Mammoth Warriors were present on the site. The rest were hiding nearby.
As Wang Jian had arrived much earlier, he had already noticed them and stayed careful not to reveal his position.
In contrast to the low number of Crimson Mammoth Warriors on the site, the Miracle Angel Tribe and Night Dagger Clan had arrived in full force, with over 60 warriors from each tribe.
"Give up, Kang Fu! It's your last chance!" shouted Han Lei.
"We will never surrender!" Kang Fu shouted valiantly.
His tribe members all roared in a strange fervour as they launched themselves at their adversaries.
The Miracle Angel Tribe members immediately charged at the Crimson Mammoth Tribe warriors, their weapons clashing in mid-air.
The Night Dagger Clan members remained behind, making the Miracle Angel Tribe members wonder what was at play.
As the battle raged on, the Crimson Mammoth Tribe members fought valiantly, their brute strength and martial prowess allowing them to close in on the Miracle Angel Tribe's forces. However, they were met with a barrage of arrows and spells that took down many of their numbers.
Just as it seemed like the Crimson Mammoth Tribe members were about to be defeated, the Night Dagger Clan emerged from behind, revealing their true allegiance to the Crimson Mammoth Tribe. The Night Dagger Clan members started attacking the Miracle Angel Tribe from behind, causing chaos and confusion among their ranks.
The Crimson Mammoth Tribe members rallied, and their spirits were lifted by the unexpected turn of events.
More Crimson Mammoth Tribe warriors suddenly made their presence known as they joined this battle.
They charged forward with renewed vigour, their muscles bulging with strength as they tore through the Miracle Angel Tribe's defences.
Han Xifeng, the heiress of the Miracle Angel Tribe, fought fiercely to defend her people, but the situation turned out to be hopeless.
As the battle raged on, her anger grew with every passing moment. She watched as her fellow Miracle Angel Tribe members fell one by one to the combined forces of the Crimson Mammoth Tribe and the Night Dagger Clan.
But what truly enraged her was the sudden betrayal of the Night Dagger Clan, who had allied themselves with the Crimson Mammoth Tribe. She couldn't believe that they had turned their backs on the Miracle Angel Tribe, especially after they had been so close to forming an alliance.
As the chaos continued, Han Lei, her father, ordered her to escape, but she refused.
"No, father! I won't leave you here to die! We can fight together and defeat them!" Han Xifeng protested, her voice trembling with emotion.
But her father was adamant. "I must stay and hold them off. You must escape and find Lin Feng. Only by his side can you be safe. Find a way to avenge us. Make sure to rebuild our tribe. Promise me, Xifeng."
Han Xifeng protested again, "But father-"
Han Lei grabbed her by the shoulders and spoke to her in a stern, angry tone.
"Listen to me carefully, Xifeng. You are the heiress of the Miracle Angel Tribe, and your survival is the top priority. You must leave now and live to reclaim our tribe's glory in the future. Do you understand?"
Han Xifeng tried to protest, but her father's tone left no room for argument.
"But Father, I cannot leave you and the tribe to face this danger alone. We should fight together!"
Han Lei shook his head, his eyes filled with tears.
"No, Xifeng. You are our hope for the future. You must live! Live to avenge our tribe and then rebuild it! Remember, I am always with you, no matter what happens."
"Promise me!" he interrupted with a firm tone.
Han Xifeng's eyes filled with tears as she nodded reluctantly, "I promise."
She turned to leave, but as she ran, she couldn't help but feel a burning rage towards the Night Dagger Clan.
"How could they do this? We trusted them! We were supposed to be allies!" she thought to herself, clenching her fists.
If Wang Jian had heard her words, he would have probably burst out in laughter. His plan had worked wonderfully.
This was exactly what he wanted to accomplish.
