Chapter 67: Two Mysterious Beings...
The goddess of souls looked not like one would expect..
She appeared as a white, phantom-like silhouette, a glowing representation of a human body.
One glance at her, and it was clear she was otherworldly, ethereal. Her hair was a radiant white, cascading down her shoulders, and her figure was undeniably feminine and alluring, with curves that would have captivated any man's attention.
But her body was grotesquely corroded.
The effects of Leon's yang qi were evident, her once flawless form now marred and pitted as if dipped in acid.
The divine beauty she once possessed was still apparent, but it was overshadowed by the ravages of the attack. The sight of her corroded, pain-wracked body, despite its enticing curves, would repulse rather than attract.
Her voice, filled with unrestrained rage, echoed through the space. "I'll kill you two!"
Leon and Lily could feel the murderous intent radiating from her, a palpable force that made their hearts race with fear.
The intensity of her presence was overwhelming, a testament to her godly power, even in her weakened state.
With that, she flew at them with blinding speed, her eyes red with anger. But then, a strange purple energy began to permeate out from behind Leon.
The energy devoured reality itself, causing the area right behind Leon to appear distorted. The air seemed to shimmer and warp as if the very fabric of existence was being undone.
The eyes of the Goddess of Souls, which were red and filled with rage, shrunk in fear as she stopped abruptly in her advance.
'Such intense void energy... Could it be? No, this isn't possible,' she thought, a chill running down her spine.
Leon and Lily also felt a chill from behind them. Lily had no idea what was going on, but Leon knew it was the system in its true form. But he saw a prompt that indicated it was splitting or something, he didn't think much about that, his current situation was tense.
Leon wanted to turn and look behind, but he couldn't move. The aura of the being behind him surpassed the Goddess of Souls' aura by miles.
Despite the fact that the aura wasn't directed at him, Leon was completely frozen, his joints weak, sweat trickling down his face. Lily was in an even worse situation.
[You're weak...] Leon heard a coarse, heavy, manly voice directed at the Goddess of Souls.
Her heart was full of despair. The moment she sensed the presence of those two mighty beings behind Leon, she knew it was all over.
Her eyes shifted to Leon, and she gulped. 'What's with this human that they're protecting him so much...'
[While it would surely feel good to kill you right now, we have a use for you,] another voice, this one feminine, echoed behind Leon.
The voice sounded insanely mysterious and arousing, even more seductive than Lily's voice, which Leon loved so much. But Leon was in no mood to think about that right now.
A smoke of purple, filled with an aura that sent chills down Leon and Lily's spines, enveloped the Goddess of Souls. Her previously calm face crumpled as a wave of pain assaulted her.
"You said you wouldn't kill me! You..." Her desperate words and cries were cut off as the purple aura casually enveloped her completely, making her disappear along with the aura.
"Of course we won't kill you, you serve another purpose," the feminine voice said, dripping with cold amusement. The one with the male voice remained silent.
Then, in a sexy voice that sent shivers down Leon's spine, she said, "Kid, you see that level of strength? Before you achieve it, don't ever get complacent."
[You're weak,] the male voice finally spoke again, his tone laced with heavy disdain.
As soon as the voices ceased, silence ensued behind Leon once more. The two mysterious beings disappeared as quickly as they had appeared.
[The Goddess of Souls have been sent to your soul subspace]
When they finally left, Leon and Lily gulped a mouthful of air. Lily's gaze on Leon was now one of reverence. Leon recounted the mocking tone of the male voice, "You're weak!"
Ever since it had appeared with the other, the male voice had only said those two words, "You're weak," in a condescending tone that sparked a flame in Leon's heart.
What happened now was a humiliation to him. He hated the fact that the System was forced to protect him. Even though he had wanted strength before, now the flame in his heart had grown stronger than ever. Now he felt as if he had found a true sense of purpose.
"Who are they?" Lily asked, her eyes wide with a mix of curiosity and lingering fear. It now made sense to her why Leon had been so confident; he had these two mysterious beings backing him.
"To be honest, I don't know who they really are, but they're related to me," Leon sighed, he didn't know the full details about those two either, heck! He didn't even know what those two looked like.
If he knew what Lily was thinking he would've been shocked, he was confident because he thought his yan qi would be enough to completely eliminate the Goddess of Souls, but things turned out to be more complicated than he thought...
The air was tense. Leon let out a low sigh and began to lighten the mood. "Was the reason why you contacted me now because you've got restrictions on you and can't reach out in the outside world?"
"Yes," Lily nodded and then added, "I have responsibilities that come with restrictions. I'm unable to make contact with you while you're in the outside world, but once you've cleared a dungeon and reached the rune stone level, I can reach out."
Hearing that, Leon nodded in understanding, his gaze moving to the rune stone that shoots out the green beam of light. "So that's a rune stone, huh?"
Lily nodded. "Yes, it's a focal point of power within dungeons. It has a direct connection to the Great Labyrinth, because of that link I was able to sense your presence close to the stone from the other side..."

Leon and Lily walked around the dungeon, as they did so, Lily's vine collected some hidden drops that Leon was not aware of...
Leon looked around the place, his eyes landing on various items that were there...
Lily used her godly powers to gather the loots, some where weapons, but there was one thing that piqued Leon's interest. Among the items were three bars of gold. Leon's eyes widened in surprise. "Gold bars? In a place like this?"
Lily chuckled softly. "Yes, these were in use by the goblin inhabitants of this dungeon. They hoard valuable items like this."
Leon marveled at the gold bars before moving on to the other items. He thought of something and then asked, "What about monster cores? Do they drop in dungeons like this?"
He never got the chance to ask Amelia about those before coming to visit the dungeon, so he had no info, so he just decided to ask Lily
Lily heard him and nodded, her expression becoming serious. "Yes, beast cores are valuable. Beasts at mutant level and above drop cores, which can contain their bloodline and chaotic energy equivalent to the beast's strength before it died."
Leon thought things through and nodded, the goblin commander was a mutant so was the dungeon boss, but the dungeon boss was in the verge of breaking through to the next realm. The fact they didn't drop anything made Leon realize that the beast core drops are also dependent on luck also just like other drops
With the loot gathered, Lily prepared to leave. She turned to Leon, a soft smile on her face. "Remember, I'm always watching over you. I'll come to you whenever you need me."
Leon reached out and took her hand, his gaze intense. "You're mine now, remember? It won't be long before I raid another dungeon. Make sure to visit."
Lily nodded, her cheeks flushing.
"Get stronger, Leon. Things are more fun within the great labyrinth" saying this, She stepped back, and a portal opened in front of the green rune stone. Her figure disappeared into the swirling energy, leaving Leon alone.
Leon watched her depart, his silver hair fluttering in the breeze. He clenched his fist, a flame of determination burning in his heart. "I've got a goddess in my harem, but I'm pretty weak myself. I need to get stronger and fast."
As for the Great Labyrinth, ever since he got transmigrated to this world he had been hearing about it, so he was curious still, so even without Lily telling him to, he knew he'll head there sooner or later...
With everything stored in his spatial ring, Leon proceeded to leave the dungeon. The countdown had long begun, but with everything done, he could only casually walk back to the other end of the dungeon. There, he found a portal waiting. Sighing to himself in self-disgruntlement, he proceeded to walk into the portal, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
