Chapter 260: It's Time to Tell You (1)
Even though the angel had used their unique authority, Sishal, out of frustration, it was ineffective as long as the Supreme Being Title existed.
[A human who is immune to Sishal? This is absurd.]
Gabriel sighed and resorted to telekinesis.
Ryu Min felt an invisible force gripping his body, but only for a moment.
‘Telekinesis? That’s nothing.’
Breaking free with sheer strength, Ryu Min swung his scythe with precision.
Crash!
Gabriel rolled across the ground, smashing into objects. The house was now a complete mess, bearing the scars of battle.
“Aaaaargh!”
Clearly enraged, Gabriel lost his composure and began swinging his chain recklessly.Although dodging wasn’t difficult, the weapon itself was annoying to deal with.
‘I’d like to break that chain, but it won’t be easy.’
Even though he was holding back, Gabriel had managed to block every one of Ryu Min’s attacks so far. A half-hearted strike wouldn’t cut it.
‘If I can’t disable his weapon, I’ll have to neutralize something else instead.’
Ryu Min’s movements suddenly sped up.
Even Gabriel, who could read the future, found it difficult to keep up with his speed.
For the first time, Gabriel looked visibly flustered.
That was understandable—knowing what was coming was one thing, but being unable to stop it was another.
Shwick—!
For the first time, golden blood sprayed from Gabriel.
Thud—!
His two arms, which had been holding the chain, were cleanly severed.
“Argh!”
Simultaneously, Raphael coughed up blood.
‘So, Raphael was absorbing the impact for Gabriel all along.’
Ryu Min had been wondering why Gabriel hadn’t sustained any injuries despite being pushed back by his attacks.
He knew Raphael had buffed Gabriel to nullify damage, but a buff that overpowered couldn’t come without a cost.
‘And the cost was absorbing the shock into his mana.’
The more Ryu Min attacked Gabriel, the faster Raphael’s mana drained away.
The moment Ryu Min realized this, he changed his strategy, targeting Gabriel instead of Raphael.
Without Raphael’s support, Gabriel wasn’t much of a threat.
“Khhhhh…!”
Gabriel’s face contorted in pain as he lost his arms, but Ryu Min didn’t have the luxury to savor the sight.
Shwoooosh—
In the blink of an eye, Gabriel’s arms regenerated.
“Thank you, Raphael.”
“It’s nothing, but my mana is nearly depleted.”
“Already? How much do you have left?”
“At best… 5%.”
“What?!”
Gabriel was genuinely shocked.
Raphael possessed an ocean of mana. During the Celestial-Demonic War, he had provided protective shields to hundreds of battle angels and had lasted three full days without faltering.
But now, just five minutes into the fight, his mana reserves were nearly empty?
“I can barely block one or two more attacks. I need time to recover my mana…”
“Damn. This is bad.”
Ryu Min smirked as he watched the two angels exchange words.
‘They’re reaching their limits. If that’s the case…’
Glancing at Raphael, who was sweating nervously, Ryu Min vanished.
He reappeared instantly right in front of Raphael, whose eyes widened in shock.
“Ah…”
That was the last word Raphael uttered in Ryu Min’s home.
CRASH—!
Ryu Min’s attack hit Raphael squarely, sending him crashing through the living room window.
Thanks to the little mana he had left, Raphael avoided a fatal injury, but he couldn’t stop himself from falling out of the building.
“R-Raphael!”n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Gabriel, now panicked, realized he was next.
It was inevitable—his reliable shield was gone.
‘The Goddess was right. The two of us alone can’t handle this.’
Cornered, Gabriel sought a way to turn the situation around.
It didn’t even take him a second to come up with a plan.
‘Why didn’t I think of this earlier?’
Gabriel focused intently on the movements of the black scythe.
At first glance, Ryu Min seemed to be attacking recklessly, but Gabriel could sense it—Ryu Min was paying close attention to his surroundings, particularly to his younger sibling.
‘Let’s test my theory.’
Whip!
Ignoring the black scythe aimed at him, Gabriel hurled his chain.
Its target? The younger sibling trembling in the corner of the room.
‘If my guess is correct, the black scythe will…’
Clang—!
‘…prioritize protecting them.’
As expected, Ryu Min deflected the chain to shield his sibling.
“Humans truly are foolish creatures.”
Gabriel scoffed.
It made sense for him to protect Raphael, who was vital to their plan. But why would a human go out of their way to protect a mere bystander?
Because they were family? Because they were important to him?
What use were such feelings in the middle of a battle?
Wouldn’t they just be a liability?
‘Now that I’ve found your weakness, I’ll exploit it thoroughly.’
Gabriel no longer paid any attention to Ryu Min’s attacks.
He aimed all his focus on Ryu Min’s sibling, ruthlessly swinging his chain.
Clang—! Clang—!
Each time, Ryu Min intercepted the chain, but the shockwaves from the attacks continued to destroy the house.
Boom—! Boom—!
“Ugh, ugh…!”
The chaotic destruction terrified Ryu Won.
Even a fool could tell that the angel was targeting him.
‘W-What do I do? Because of me, the black scythe is in trouble.’
Ryu Won cowered in the corner, helpless, as Ryu Min stood protectively in front of him.
Gabriel’s relentless attacks only made him feel guiltier.
‘I-It’s my fault. I’m the one holding him back…’
However, Ryu Min, who had read his sibling’s thoughts mid-battle, shook his head inwardly.
‘No, it’s not your fault.’
The archangels were here to kill him, not his sibling.
Unable to win through sheer strength, they had resorted to using his family as leverage.
‘I had prepared for something like this by casting the Hero’s Protection spell, but…’
He hadn’t expected the situation to escalate so quickly.
Clang—! Clang—!
“Heh, foolish human. You’re barely managing to defend.”
Gabriel’s chain coiled tighter, like a snake closing in on its prey.
It wouldn’t be long before a single slip would lead to his sibling getting hurt.
‘Fighting while holding back is proving to be more difficult than I thought.’
If Gabriel were an ordinary archangel, Ryu Min would’ve counterattacked by now.
However, Gabriel’s ability to read three seconds into the future complicated things.
‘If I leave even the slightest opening, my sibling will get hurt.’
Technically, it wasn’t his sibling who would get hurt—it would be him, but the resulting impact wouldn’t be easy to endure.
‘He’s stalling for time.’
Gabriel’s reckless attacks weren’t without reason.
Deep down, Gabriel was calculating that even if he fell, Raphael would recover and rejoin the battle.
‘I’ll finish this before that happens.’
Having no other choice, Ryu Min decided to use more of his power.
