Rise of the Blood Sovereign

Chapter 105 Harrison Arrives Home

105  Harrison Arrives Home

Jonah and the other two made their way over to where the hideout was located at. The hideout they had created was actually right below a busy bar in the center of the city.

One would enter a small house next to the bar before opening the door of the cellar. After that, one needed to activate three switches that were placed inside the cellar. Each of the switches was hidden and by themselves, they wouldn't do a thing.

Not only did one need to activate all three of them in order for the passage to the hideout to be revealed, but one needed to activate them in the correct order, which was easier said than done as one had to activate the switches twice in order for them to work.

After the three had done so, a part of the wall suddenly moved before they went deeper inside. A wall was placed at the end of the small tunnel they entered from, and Jonah simply went ahead and knocked rhythmically on the wall a total of 8 times before a clicking sound was heard and the wall shifted to reveal the hideout.

Not only would a potential intruder have to somehow activate the three switches in order twice, but they would also need to know the correct way to knock on the wall in order to activate an array that was installed on it. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Since the entrance behind them would close, one would be trapped inside the tunnel without knowing the sequence, and if they waited for too long or if they made a wrong sequence, another array would activate.

The inside of the tunnel would first be filled up with gas that was lethal to even Golden Knights before being set on flames. If the gas didn't kill the intruder, the flames would. If the flames were still not effective and didn't kill them, then the first and final attack which meant that the entire tunnel would suddenly be filled with spikes made out of powerful metal that could even injure a Golden Knight, would.

The money that Harrison had spent in order to get everything here made was incredibly high and it was only possible thanks to him planning everything years ago. Harrison didn't have powerful backing like his siblings, nor did he have the talent needed to take over the family as the head.

His original plan was simply to make himself a notable figure that had the backing of a major family so that no one would dare harm him in the future, but after some time, that changed.

It was the appearance of the system that finally made it possible for Harrison to quickly raise his personal strength so that he could finally rise high and become a person of great power, which meant that even with his meager talent, he could still rise above everyone else and become powerful.

His spies had dirt on quite a lot of notable figures, and he could use that information in the future to gain a slight advantage as well.

With the help of the Crimson Corps, a mercenary guild that housed not one, but 5 Golden Knights amongst their ranks, Harrison was certain that he would be able to quickly gain the same power his older siblings had.

Harrison entered the mansion of his family while his three servants entered the hideout. The sight in front of them was a similar one, well, the atmosphere was similar.

Silver was sitting down on a sofa and even though he wasn't using it, his aura was clearly visible to Jonah and the others, making them feel a bit nervous in front of him.

As for Harrison, seeing his father sitting atop the large chair at the end of the hall made him gulp slightly. The power of a Titled Knight was not something one could withstand easily, even if they were a Golden Knight.

Jonah and the others sat opposite Silver and started talking with him. He was the one to initiate the conversation as Jonah and the others dared not do so. He wanted to know what information they had about their targets and what each of them was supposed to do.

The Crimson Corps was not sending any more men until Harrison finished his plans and gave over the information that he had promised them. If the traitor from their organization was found by Harrison, then they would enter into a contract with him and even though they would continue working as mercenaries, he would have two of them available to command at any moment.

The prospect of getting a high-ranking mercenary guild to work with him in such a way was something that would rarely be available, and Harrison was certain that he could fulfill his end of the deal, but even if he wasn't able to, he had a way to deal with them if things turned sour, so he wasn't that worried about the entire thing.

It would simply be a pity if he wasn't able to get the Corps to enter an alliance with him later on since he was certain that Silver and another one of the Golden Knights could reach the Titled Knight realm thanks to the system being present.

He wasn't sure just how difficult it was to reach the realm, but he was certain that it was much easier to do so now compared to before. Not only could one quickly increase his strength, but they also would gain knowledge about what it was they needed to do before evolving and reaching the next realm.

Harrison himself had gone through it, and he knew exactly how the process went. It was an exhilarating thing for him, who was once a worthless man that could barely channel any mana, to suddenly be able to improve his strength and physical condition merely by killing monsters and even other humans.

Of course, his meager strength didn't allow him to fight monsters right away, which is why he used his servants and then Silver in order to do so.

His servants would first injure a monster before he would fight it. Even though the soul power he gained was fewer thanks to that, he was still able to quickly improve his strength. He had a special condition which was why he was unable to channel mana in the past, and that was all explained by the system.

He was level 0 when he first started, and he actually needed to level up multiple times before hitting level 1 as that was the prerequisite to healing his body and allowing him to finally be normal, just average.

The entire thing was incredibly painful for Harrison, but he powered through it, and he was now finally able to become strong.

As he stood in front of his father and bowed to him, the eyes of the powerful Titled Knight constricted slightly before he nodded at Harrison and allowed him to sit down at the table.

His siblings were all there, each of them glancing at Harrison, acting smug since they were unable to feel anything from the man. They thought that after the system made its appearance, their younger brother might start improving his strength, but it seemed they were wrong.

He was smart, and smarter than any of them, which made him a threat, but only if he was to train and increase his power. Some of them thought that that might be the reason he didn't do it, since any improvement would be seen by them and they would bare their fangs at him, trying to destroy him before he was able to do anything that would put their plans in danger.

The conversation they had was one that had been repeated for 10 days. It was what happened to the Holad family, and one could see that the second son, the third child that was borne to the head of the family, was still quite enraged by it.

Lordic was a valuable ally of his. Not only was Lordic himself powerful, but he also possessed valuable information about many people and events thanks to him being a high-ranking member of the Midnight Dagger.

Losing him was a big blow to him, and he was certain that it was done by one of his siblings. He, of course, dared not say something like that in front of his father. His siblings were still members of the family, and accusing them of killing an ally was something that could only be done if he had all the evidence that was needed to do so.

Because of the fact that they had no clues as to how had killed them, or why it had been done, Harrison's father had decided to put the matter at rest. They would still continue their investigation, but with only a fraction of manpower compared to before.

Whoever had done the deed was someone that was crafty and powerful, and even Harrison's father doubted that they would ever find him.

After the entire thing had finished, Harrison went to his room. He was going to stay in the mansion, but only temporarily before moving out. As he entered his room, however, he dropped his things in shock as his father was there, waiting for him.
