Chapter 296: Skyrocketing Faith

Chapter 296: Skyrocketing Faith

Meanwhile, in the glass greenhouse, Calyrex, who had been resting with closed eyes, suddenly opened them, sensing a powerful shift.

'What... is happening?

'How could there be such an immense surge of faith?

Calyrex's pupils widened, feeling the warm energy that now flowed steadily into Him. This wave of belief was unlike anything He had felt before, leaving Him both deeply moved and stunned.

With a slight shift in focus, He manifested within the ranch, gazing out into the distance, hoping to pinpoint the source of this power. But to His astonishment, He found that the faith wasn't originating from a single person. Instead, it was streaming in from all directions, from every corner of the land.

These were the hearts of those who lived across this entire region...

Overwhelmed by a wave of emotions, Calyrex stood silently, taking in the reality of it. The sheer volume of this faith was staggering, even surpassing the devotion He had once received in the Galar region. The force of this belief, as vast as an ocean, coalesced into pure energy, surging into His being.

Within moments, Calyrex realized His power had grown, surpassing even His peak strength. "How... how could this be?" He murmured in awe.

Eager to understand the cause of this remarkable change, He transported Himself to Naoki's side, sharing the incredible transformation He was experiencing.

"I... I sense more and more people are believing in me. Their collective belief is amplifying my power beyond measure!"

While Calyrex stood in awe, Naoki received the news with a calm smile. He invited Calyrex to sit and offered Him a cup of tea, ready to explain what had been happening.

"Because you used your power to restore the mountainside forest, the Paldea League, which holds great influence in this region, built a shrine in your honor as a way of expressing their gratitude," Naoki explained.

"This drew the attention of reporters, who shared the story of what you did with everyone across this land."

Calyrex, unused to such modern customs, blinked, puzzled. "Reporters? What are they? And how can they tell so many people what I did in such a short time?"

"Uh..." Naoki paused for a moment, then explained everything to Calyrex in as much detail as he could. "A journalist is a bit like a messenger."

"They seek out memorable events or important news, record it, and then broadcast it on television. And, well, that's what television is."

Naoki gestured to the TV, which was currently showing a Pokémon cartoon.

The cartoons on TV were lighthearted shows about the daily lives of Pokémon and their interactions with humans. Shows like 'Cozy Lava House', 'The Mischievous Pancham Who Dreams of Being a Hero, Snowy Summer Adventures', and 'The Melody of Jigglypuff' were among the popular choices.

Pawmot and Glaceon watched the screen intently, fully absorbed.

Following Naoki's pointing finger, Calyrex looked over at the TV, his expression curious. Although He had been living on the ranch, He rarely ventured into these aspects of human life. Instead, He spent His days in the glass greenhouse Naoki had prepared for Him, enjoying the flowers and tea.

Now, for the first time since leaving the Crown Tundra, Calyrex felt the profound changes in the world around Him.

Naoki continued, "That's the television. People make shows, like the cartoons with humans and Pokémon you see here, and broadcast them on TV so that everyone with a television can watch."

Calyrex nodded thoughtfully. "So, the reporter shared what I did on this television, and then all those humans who watch TV learned about it?"

"Exactly!" Naoki nodded, impressed with how quickly Calyrex grasped the concept.

Calyrex looked back at the TV, marveling. "I've never seen anything like this. In just a few thousand years, humans have developed so much. It's truly remarkable!"

Naoki smiled.

In the era when Calyrex roamed the land, society was still in the early stages of civilization. There was no television, no internet, and no telephones. Sharing information took time, and the world felt incredibly isolated.

Even if Calyrex used His powers to make the plants and trees bloom, news of such wonders wouldn't spread quickly. And it was clear that Calyrex wasn't one to seek attention or showcase His deeds.

Whether He was searching for Zacian and Zamazenta or quietly shifting forests, He always worked behind the scenes, unnoticed. Even if a few people witnessed His miracles, those stories would rarely travel far. In that time, when communication relied entirely on letters sent over long distances, such news was challenging to spread.

Reflecting on this, Naoki could understand why the Galar royal family was able to erase Calyrex's legacy so easily.

But now, things were different! In this age, the King of Bountiful Harvests would never be forgotten.

The groundwork had been carefully laid, and Naoki felt a surge of joy at seeing everything fall into place. Calyrex was a Pokémon worthy of deep respect, and Naoki genuinely hoped His future would be brighter. He was more than willing to do anything to help ensure that Calyrex was recognized.

In that moment of realization, Calyrex, too, understood. He recognized that this devoted follower of His had been behind it all, ensuring that His legacy would endure.

Calyrex was deeply moved, His voice soft as He spoke. "With this newfound belief, my powers have now reached unprecedented levels."

Naoki nodded, smiling. "And they're bound to keep growing."

With the news broadcast reaching viewers across the region, stories about the King of Bountiful Harvests would soon appear in major newspapers. Word of mouth would spread, and soon, even more people would learn of Calyrex's existence.

This was just the beginning within the Paldea region. If Calyrex's deeds were eventually shared with other regions, His legend could reach people far and wide.

Naoki could hardly imagine the kind of power Calyrex might possess if His name became known across all regions. This was the strength of belief-of recognition. The more people who were aware of Him, the greater His power would become.

Yet Calyrex was unique among legendary beings. Unlike traditional gods who required deep faith, Calyrex didn't need people to worship Him earnestly; mere awareness of His name and existence allowed Him to draw strength.

In a word, incredible!n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Naoki thought to himself, 'Though the internet isn't that advanced yet, so far, the story of Calyrex, the King of Bountiful Harvests, has spread only within Paldea.'

'But one day, when live streaming becomes widespread and online forums gain popularity, Calyrex's name will reach the entire world.'

Naoki could already imagine it. Whether in the Sinnoh region, the Hoenn region, Unova, or even the distant Kanto and Johto regions, the legend of Calyrex would eventually reach every

corner of the world.
