Chapter 429: 429 Reservation Table_1
Chapter 429: Chapter 429 Reservation Table_1
After all the commotion, a lot of time had already passed.
Not just the Cook family’s people, but even Julius Reed was starting to feel hungry.
Having lived for tens of thousands of years, in theory, he should be able to go without food.
Anyway, nearly immortal, food could hardly be a problem for him.
But these three years of ordinary human life had made him take a liking to eating again.
Looking around, Twilight Mansion was already full today, with only one table left on the first floor.
Stacy Cook looked around and, finding no other options, headed straight for that table.
“Manager, I’m reserving that table!”
Julius Reed said with a smile as he saw the movements of Stacy Cook and the others.
“Understood!”
The manager nodded, how could he dare not comply with Julius Reed’s command?
He promptly led the security guards over to that table.
“Wow, Twilight Mansion really is impressive! Look at these tables and chairs, all top of the line!”
“For sure! I didn’t get the chance to come here before. Today it was only after Abram Cook insisted and Tarquin Cook reluctantly agreed to come.”
“We really owe Stacy! The life we’ve been living these past years has been unbearable! Now, at last, we’re seeing the light of day!”
Everyone, as soon as they mentioned Tarquin Cook, began cursing him out.
They quickly recovered from their shock and began to suck up to Stacy Cook, even nominating him to take charge of the family business.
“Stacy, why don’t you take the chairman’s position? Our Cook family hasn’t had much talent over these years, Tarquin Cook is blocking us!”
Someone suggested.
“Forget it! I didn’t come back to fight with you all over this little bit of family property. You might laugh at me for saying this, but what’s this money really worth? The future of the Cook family will look like the present state of Ovidiu Cook!”
Stacy Cook said calmly, yet not a single person disbelieved him.
They knew, the Cook family was revitalized!
But just as they were about to sit down, the restaurant manager suddenly came over with his team, looking very apologetic, “I am terribly sorry, this table has been reserved! Would you please be so kind as to make way?”
“What! Reserved? When did that happen?”
The people of the Cook family said discontentedly, you’re telling us it’s reserved when we’re about to sit?
They were all hungry, and this was the last table.
If they really gave it up, it would mean they’d have to wait in line again.
When you’re starving, every second feels like an eternity.
So hard to bear!
“I’m extremely sorry! This is the restaurant’s rule, first come first served. As long as you haven’t sat down, any customer has the right to reserve. If you had reserved earlier, naturally, the table would be yours!”
The manager said with a smile.
“What sort of nonsense is that! When was this table reserved?”
Abram Cook asked irritably. Everyone was hungry, and just as they had calmed down from the previous frustration, this annoying issue cropped up.
“Just now, one minute ago!”
The manager responded.
“Please abide by our hotel’s rules, once you enter Twilight Mansion, you need to follow our regulations, don’t make our job difficult.”
After saying this, his facial expression was already turning sour.
“I suppose that was also a reservation made just now? It has been a long time since I’ve seen my family, and it’s rare for us to come out to eat together. Could you introduce me so I can communicate with that other customer and see if they could perhaps make an exception?” Stacy Cook slipped a thousand dollars into the manager’s pocket.
“Of course!”
The manager nodded his head.
Julius Reed had already instructed him, if they paid, just take the money, after all, why turn down something free.
“This gentleman here has reserved the table, and I think you should recognize him,” the manager said, and then once more with an apologetic tone, “If this customer disagrees, you all might have to wait.”
“It’s you!”
Seeing the person who had come was Julius Reed, Bran Cook’s teeth were chattering with irritation.
His face hadn’t even de-swollen yet, and now, to meet on such a narrow road—it was as if they were deliberately opposing him!
“They were behind us!”
Bran Cook growled in a low voice.
“But the hotel’s rules are just like this. The gentleman reserved the table before you were seated,” the manager said with a smile: “If they reserve, you can only watch.”
“Nonsense rules!”
Bran Cook cursed.
“Sir, please mind your language!”
The manager’s face turned cold, frightening Bran Cook into silence.
This was Ovidiu Cook’s turf, and he knew better than to overstep.
Despite his fame in Gonzalez City, his foundation was still too weak to challenge the richest man.
“Can’t we talk about this matter?”
Stacy Cook glared at the manager, wishing he could tear Julius Reed limb from limb.
This scumbag!
Like a fly that does not bite but still disgusts you!
If it weren’t for being on Ovidiu Cook’s territory, if it weren’t at Twilight Mansion, he would have killed this young man right here!
“There’s no room for discussion! My mother-in-law is hungry, and so is my father-in-law!”
Julius Reed shrugged his shoulders, gesturing towards Knox Ridge and Burl Radcliffe behind him.
Burl Radcliffe was still okay, at least he could still stand.
Knox Ridge was completely done for.
Scared witless, her legs turned to jelly and her body trembled continuously.
Hearing Julius Reed dare to stand up to the Cook family scared her almost to the point of fainting.
“I’m not hungry! Let Mr. Cook eat first…”
Knox Ridge said tremblingly, her voice sounding almost creepy.
“Right… we wouldn’t dare to compete with the Cook family…”
Burl Radcliffe chimed in.
They were just an ordinary family; the old man had barely made them a pseudo second-tier clan when he was alive.
Now that the old man had vanished, the family was in disarray, and they were just ordinary folks.
How could they stand against the Cook family?
Did they think they had too long to live?
Especially the burly man behind Stacy Cook, who had scared the old couple out of their wits.
“See? Your aunt and uncle have no objections!”
Stacy Cook said, pleased with the fear he saw in them.
“Exactly! We have no objections, you go first. There’s always an order to these things, after you, please!”
Though Knox Ridge couldn’t stand up, she was lucid enough to speak clearly.
“Wife, are you hungry?”
Julius Reed shook his head helplessly.
If his mother-in-law used her knack for handling him on others, would she still be in this situation?
Indeed.
Submissive to outsiders, but hitting hard at home!
She could curse at him for a full two hours straight without repeating herself.
But when it came to others, she would turn timid.
“Miss Radcliffe, are you hungry?”
Stacy Cook once again adopted a haughty attitude, attempting to intimidate Quella Radcliffe.
Jordan stepped forward, flexing the muscles on his body.
The reason they acted this way was to frighten Julius Reed, to make him give up his place.
“I am hungry!”
Quella Radcliffe said loudly, unafraid.
“Truly my wife, Julius Reed!”
Julius Reed laughed heartily, pointing at Jordan: “Did you just try to scare my wife?”
Jordan had just looked at Quella Radcliffe with a ferocious gaze that would have made any other girl cry on the spot.
“Quella, you’re crazy! Say you’re not hungry! Let’s go! Julius Reed, this loser, will get us all killed!”
Knox Ridge cursed from behind, yet she failed to notice the aura around Julius Reed beginning to rise.
No one could be rough with his wife, not even with a glance!
