Chapter 287: Chapter 287 – Last Battle in Main Server [2]

Flying toward the large tortoise, Max prepared the MK-III Pew Pew beam rifle. The name came from him. Because the shooting sound was similar to Pew Pew, he decided to name it like that.

Unlike its name, the rifle's efficiency could be proved.

Pew!

A red beam was sent flying after he pulled the trigger. It hit the enemy robot's red barrier and pierced it easily, destroying the unit with an explosion and sending the nearby units away due to the shockwave.

It gave him a chance to break through their ranks. Or so he thought.

"Huh?"

Max stopped midair as he looked at the place where he just destroyed one robot. The hole caused from the break of formation earlier was already filled up. More robots gathered in the area, noticing that his rifle was dangerous for them.

"Damn, this is going to be hard."

— It is indeed hard

— The last battle is obviously the longest. Don't expect to get lucky and destroy the main server just like before.

— Kekekeke! DESPAIR! GO FALL INTO THE PIT OF HELL!

— Breeze's demise is in sight then. Hohohoho! Discover worlds on m-v le-mpyr

— *Evil laugh* No one can run! No one can hide!

"You guys are so skeptical. When did I ever disappoint you?"

Facing the difficult challenge ahead, Max grinned. This was what a game should be. When did it become so easy? Even the online game had challenges, such as troll teammates or skilled opponents.

What if the enemy had an unlimited supply of robots? They looked the same and were weaker than the first two he met anyway. And…

"Support Officer!"

"Let him breakthrough!"

The ground which was filled with four-legged robots and running Strands. Most friendly robots used photon swords, which used the salvageable energy core from the enemy, to put up an equal fight with the enemies.

The sound of guns blaring filled the sky. It filled the battlefield like a war song.

Soon, the enemy's rank fell. Many weapons were already upgraded to break through the red barrier. Max didn't stay silent either. He used the rifle to attack the enemies. He also used the railgun sometime to destroy many robots at once.

Many fireballs appeared in the sky from the exploding enemies. And then…

"I see a hole!"

There was a hole in the enemy's defense. It would soon be filled out if he didn't hurry. Max calculated it swiftly and knew he couldn't reach that defense while flying at his current speed.

Narrowing his eyes, he knew there was only one option.

"Should I do that?" He muttered. Then, he shook his head to make up his mind. "No, there is no time to think about it. Do it, Breeze! Just do it!" He tried to convince himself.

— OH?!

— THAT FACE! I recognize it!

— Let me explain! That face Breeze made is when he's thinking of something impossible but will pull it off

— No!! He realized the strat! Don't do it. Don't do it!

— Fight more please! I want to watch you fight!

Torn between the decision, Max didn't read the chat. He didn't know that his decision was ultimately the correct one.

He only gritted his teeth and put the rifle away.

"I have no choice."

Getting into a position, Max commanded the game assist.

"Fly at full speed."

With that, his Strand turned into a blur, leaving only a silver and blue streak as he flew toward the tortoise at full speed.

— He did it!

— A suicide attack! The only possible one in this situation!

— Damn, he actually did it.

— I thought he wouldn't do it again after what happened earlier!

— He's breaking through!

— Woah, stop stop stop! You're going to hit the tortoise!

— Yeaaahh!

Max commanded the thruster to stop once he broke through the enemy's rank. His speed slowed down slightly, but the force behind the full-powered thruster still sent him flying faster than before.

It would have been possible to stop if he had maneuvered the thruster to fly in the opposite direction, but it was difficult without practice. Not even he could handle it.

So, once again, he accepted his fate and let the Strand crash at the base of the tower on the tortoise's back.

Boom!

A loud explosion rang loudly. Black smoke was sent toward the sky as fire spread to the surroundings.

One would imagine Max to die after such an explosion. It was too great—a hole was even created in the metal wall.

But this was a game. And there was a game script. Miraculously, Mech-42's cockpit was intact even though the Strand's body blew into pieces. It was only damaged at some part, and the cockpit opened to reveal Max inside.

"Ugh…"

Holding his head, he climbed out of the cockpit with difficulty.

"That was so painful. I don't want to do it again."

— lolol, of course

— How high did you set the pain sensitivity? To think you would whine like that

— We can set up to 80% with the new capsule. Don't tell me you used that setting all this time, Breeze?

— Yeah, you never talked about that.

"Ah? I didn't?" Max patted his body as he looked at the camera. "I set it to the highest." He said.

Naturally, that highest was the one his capsule allowed. The pain made him feel alive. Not that he was a masochist, but he was done with a dull life for 3 months.

"Don't try it at home, guys. It's so painful."

— We're not lunatics like you, so we won't do it

— 10% is a limit for me… Ugh, it was hurt even with that

— How can you handle that? Do you even use that setting for Roach Planet? Crazy!

— This is the first time I saw someone use a max setting on pain sensitivity. This guy's nuts.

"I think there is someone who uses the same setting as me." Max chuckled as he jumped down the cockpit. "Setting that aside, why doesn't the gameover screen appear? Is this also part of the story progression?"

He looked around in confusion.

From what he could see, he was in a long hallway. The debris and fire from the crash closed the area behind him, so he could only go in one direction.

"I guess I need to go that way?"

Without much choice, he started walking in that direction. He was pretty much unarmed, so he hoped he found no enemies. If he even met a small robot, he would definitely die.

"Please make it so that I can survive this feat."

After walking for a while, he found an intersection. The left one headed down, while the right one headed up. There was no sign whatsoever that showed where the path went, so Max stopped between it.

"Now, where should I head to?" He muttered to himself, unable to decide.

His common sense told him to head up because the main server was likely on top of the tower, but his game sense told him to go down.

"Ugh… Why doesn't this game tell me where to go? Like… They can collapse one path to show me where the main server is!" He complained loudly and sighed. "There is no choice."

Opening his streaming screen, Max began to mess with it slightly.

— Huh?

— What is he doing?

— It seems Breeze don't know where to go

— Yeah, but why is he opening a streaming screen?

At the chat's confusion, Max chuckled evilly. He indeed couldn't make a decision, but he had an idea. And that was…

"Guys, I will let you in on something fun. I don't know where to go, so why don't you pick the path for me?"

To make a vote for his viewers.

[Help me choose the way.

1. UP = 0%

2. DOWN = 0%]

"Choose the one you want me to go to. I will wait for 30 seconds." He added as his grin widened.

— Oooh! Vote!

— Now this is what we call a good stream

— Kekeke, to think you would give us such power!

— Don't regret your decision, Breeze!

[Are you serious? This could end badly!]

[NoonaBeautiful has donated 250 diamonds!]

[Choose up, guys! UP UP UP!]

[LovelyOtter has donated 700 diamonds!]

[Let's help Breeze to find the right path! Those who know the game, help me choose!]

And the war between good and troll viewers began. While it happened, Max kept laughing like an evil villain. He began to love the chaos in his chat.
