Building A Business Empire From Scratch In Another World

Chapter 68 : 68 : Blood Oath Contract

"Miss Clair, nice to meet you again," Felix smiled at one of the women among the nine people.

Among the nine people in the office, one of them is Claire, who assisted Felix when he bought the mansion.

"Mr. Felix, you are the owner of the Origin Restaurant?" Claire had a shocked and surprised look on her face as she looked at Felix.

"You can say that," Felix casually said.

Claire took a deep breath and said, "I didn't expect Mr. Felix to have such a background."

Felix smiled but didn't say anything. He rose from his seat and walked towards one of the couches and sat down.

"Come, everyone, sit down," Felix motioned for them to take a seat.

All of them quickly sat down, and Nixie sat beside Felix.

Felix glanced at Claire and asked curiously, "Miss Claire, I remember you worked at the Edel District, so what happened?"

Claire shook her head. "Well, something came up, and I quit."

"Ok," Felix simply nodded and didn't ask any further.

He looked at the remaining people and said, "My name is Felix Morningstar, and I am the owner of the Origin Restaurant. This is Nixie Morningstar, my younger sister, who helps manage the restaurant," Felix pointed to Nixie sitting beside him.

Nixie gave a small smile and nodded at them. All of them also nodded with a smile.

"Now, let's get down to business," Felix cleared his throat and said.

"We are planning to expand the Origin Restaurant in various cities, and we currently lack managers who can handle the restaurants opened in these cities. Currently, we are planning to open three branches in three different cities." Felix explained.

All nine people listened carefully, with a look of surprise in their eyes. They all knew about the Origin Restaurant, known as the most beautiful and expensive restaurant in Brigdemoor.

It had only been open for less than three months, and they already planning to open branches which seems a little fast.

Felix continued, "A few days ago, my sister conducted a hiring procedure for managers. She was able to recruit nine of you out of hundreds of other people. If she chose the nine of you, it means your experience and expertise are really impressive, and I trust her judgment very well."

All nine of them nodded with a smile and faint pride in their eyes.

During the hiring process, the competition was intense, but out of hundreds of applicants, they were the nine people hired, which is something to be proud of.

Being hired by Origin Restaurant, the most beautiful and expensive restaurant in the city, is something they never dreamed of.

"I've also looked through your information, and I can see that all of you have experience in management and you are also very good at what you do." Felix said. He glanced at Nixie and nodded.

Nixie immediately stood up, withdrew a stack of red papers with mysterious runes drawn on it from the desk, and placed one in front of each of the nine people.

All of them had shocked looks on their faces as they took the papers.

"What you are holding is the blood oath contract, all the terms and conditions that you are supposed to abide by and so forth," Felix said casually.

"You can take the contract home, read through it, and make your decision whether you want to sign it or not," Felix said again.

"I'll sign it," suddenly a voice sounded. Felix looked at Clair with surprise flashing in his eyes.

The remaining eight people also looked at Clair with surprise and shock in their eyes.

Felix shook his head, "You don't have to be hasty, you need to think it through. I won't remind you about how the path contract works."

Clair smiled and said, "I've already thought it through. I'll sign it. I mean, Mr. Felix won't stoop so low as to deceive me, right?"

Felix smirked and rubbed his nose but didn't say anything.

Felix nodded at Nixie, who immediately understood and handed a small dagger to Clair. With a smile, Clair took the dagger and made a small cut on her thumb. A drop of blood oozed out as she pressed her thumb on the oath contract, muttering something under her breath.

"I, Clair Yearwood, swear to abide by the conditions stated in this oath contract. If I break any of them, may my soul suffer for eternity," she declared.

The blood oath contract absorbed her blood, a faint red glow flickering before dimming.

Felix smiled at Clair, a brief evil glint flashing in his eyes before disappearing.

"Well, Clair, you are officially hired as the manager of the Origin Restaurant. Your monthly salary is 1 Million Gold Coins, with opportunities for promotion and higher pay," Felix announced, standing up to shake Clair's hand.

"Thank you, Mr. Felix, for hiring me," Clair said with a smile.

Felix then turned to the other eight individuals in the room. "As I mentioned earlier, you can take the contract home to review it thoroughly before making your decision."

The group fell silent, each knowing the weight of signing the blood oath contract. It bound their souls to its conditions, with severe consequences for breaking them. Seeing Clair sign without hesitation, some began to reconsider.

"I'll sign it," a voice suddenly spoke up. Felix smirked, looking at the man in his thirties with a refined demeanor.

"What's your name?" Felix inquired.

"My name is Doyle Winterforge," the man replied.

Felix nodded. "Doyle Winterforge, if you've made your decision, you can sign it."

Doyle Winterforge nodded in agreement and followed what Clair did previously signing the blood oath contract.

The rest of the group exchanged glances before deciding to sign it as well.

"Alright, now that everyone has signed the contract, I congratulate all of you. You are officially managers of the Origin Restaurant, with a monthly salary of 1 million Gold Coins. Don't worry, if you perform well, there will be opportunities for promotions and higher pay," Felix said with a smile as he shook their hands one by one.

He sat down and said, " Now you guys must wondering that since we are opening only three branches then how come you hired nine managers instead of three right".

All nine of them nodded, they were puzzled since only three branches are to open they why hire nine managers.

He explained," Well each branch would have three managers - one head manager and two vice managers. You will need to work together to make the restaurant successful in each city. Promotions to higher positions would be based on performance "

Clair asked," " But how will one become a head manager? " Clair asked.

Felix simply replied, "That's for me to decide."

"Ok " Clair nodded.

"Any other questions " Felix looked at them and asked.

One for the men raised his hand. Felix looked at him and nodded.

"Mr. Felix my name is Cole Silverthorn and I want to ask when are we going to start work?".

"As for that, you can return here in fifteen days time " Felix said.

All of them nodded in understanding.

"Ok if there are no questions left you can return now and remember come back here in fifteen days time ok ".

All of them nodded, stood and followed Nixie out of the office.

Five minutes later Nixie walked back into the office looking at Felix with a thoughtful look on her face.

"Hey big bro, why did you let them sign an oath contract instead of a normal one?" Nixie asked curiously.

Felix poured himself a glass of wine and took a sip before responding, "Well, Nixie, this world is unpredictable, and the human heart is even more complicated and unpredictable. I wanted them to be bound by something they would have to think twice about before doing something reckless. Besides, I hate betrayals the most," Felix chuckled.

Nixie nodded and asked, "But what if they decide to quit?"

Felix smirked evilly, "Can they?"

Nixie was puzzled. "What do you mean?" Her eyes widened as she quickly grabbed one of the contracts and started reading through it.

As a Mana Cultivator and a Mage with a strong soul and comprehension, she was able to read the contract in less than three minutes.

Looking back at Felix with wide eyes, Nixie exclaimed, " Holy shit, big bro, you are so evil!"

"Hahahahaha!" Felix laughed uproariously, causing the office to shake slightly.

"If they knew what was stated in the contract, I bet they would instantly regret signing it," he said.

Nixie shook her head with pity in her eyes. After a moment of contemplation, she looked at Felix and said, "Big bro, you did this on purpose, didn't you?"

Felix took another sip of his wine. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, you were waiting for one of them to sign the contract, right? And when Clair signed it, you purposely mentioned the amount of salary she would receive monthly. Most of them were shocked by the high amount. The contract is as thick as three fingers, and they are just mortals with no sort of Cultivation or powerful souls or high comprehension.

How could they read such a thick contract with so many words and conditions? So, you were just waiting for one of them to sign first so you could use that person to get the others to sign," Nixie said thoughtfully.

"And I'm sure the minute you laid eyes on Clair, you decided to use her, right? Nixie grinned and glanced over at Felix.

Felix returned her gaze with a smile, saying, "Smart."

"Hehehe!" Nixie covered her mouth and giggled.

"You won't get a boyfriend if you are that smart men don't like women who are too smart".

"Humph! I don't need a boyfriend" Nixie snorted.

"But I really pity those nine people especially that girl Clair " Nixie shook her head.

Felix still had a smile on his lips as he shook the glass of wine "Well I told them to take ti home and review it, it's not my fault?".

Nixie rolled her eyes at him,"You are too shameless and you have no morals at all".

"Well Nixie in this world you have to do anything in order to get everything that you want " Felix said with narrowed eyes.
