Apocalypse: The Hotel She Runs Is the Only Paradise

Chapter 223

The Prince was quick to act on his word.

He instructed his soldiers to inform every guest they encountered in the hotel about the upcoming meeting.

Sometimes he would personally knock on guests' doors during the day to tell them the time and location of the meeting.

Since there were quite a few guests in the hotel, and their schedules varied, it took three days to notify everyone.

This was made easier by some guests passing the message along to others.

The meeting location was set in the back garden behind the hotel.

There was plenty of open space in the back garden.

It was perfect for holding a meeting.

When the meeting time came, guests began arriving one after another.

After all, it was the Prince who had called for the meeting.

Even though they were living in the apocalypse now...

The Prince's status still carried some weight.

Moreover, some guests felt they indeed needed someone to take charge of the situation.

The Prince stood at the front, waiting for guests to arrive.

Gu Wanyin sat on the side with Old Six and Bai Shuwen.

Old Six was munching on a bag of chips with loud crunching sounds.

"Boss Gu, what kind of meeting is the Prince holding?" Bai Shuwen asked curiously.

"It's probably about the vampires," Gu Wanyin replied.

After a while, most of the guests had arrived.

Gu Wanyin took a quick glance around.

Some guests hadn't shown up.

This was to be expected.

Some people no longer respected the Prince's status.

And some, having gone through certain experiences, preferred to keep to themselves and didn't trust others.

Fortunately, the Prince didn't intend to force those absent guests to attend the meeting.

He was already pleased with the turnout.

Janet, Joshua, and Bruno had also come.

Joshua kept holding Janet's hand.

Bruno was watching the Prince warily.

He didn't know much about the Prince's character yet.

So he worried that the Prince might give Janet, his former fiancée, a hard time.

But he was overthinking it.

The Prince cleared his throat and began speaking: "I apologize for taking up your time. I've called everyone here today mainly to discuss our strategy for fighting against the vampires."

Hearing this, Bai Shuwen chuckled and whispered in Gu Wanyin's ear: "You guessed right."

Gu Wanyin smiled.

"Haven't we been fighting vampires all along?" Eugene asked, confused.

"Yes, ever since we moved into the hotel and got weapons, everyone's been learning to fight vampires," Joshua added.

"Of course, I know that," the Prince said. "Although I haven't been here long, I understand most of the situation. What I want to say is, while you've all been fighting vampires, you've been doing it individually or at most in small teams. Have you ever considered all of us uniting together to fight the vampires?"

The Prince's words were like a stone dropped into a calm lake.

The guests began discussing among themselves.

"Come to think of it, this seems like a good idea. There's strength in numbers!" Jerry said.

"I actually had a similar thought before," Tom said. "But I felt we lacked a leader who could unite everyone together."

Though he was the leader of Tom's squad, he knew his limitations and doubted his ability to lead a large group.

So he had shelved the idea.

But the Prince was different.

Though he sometimes appeared foolish, the fact that so many soldiers were loyal to him proved his leadership abilities.

Plus, he had his status as Prince.

When he spoke, he was passionate and inspiring.

Tom felt that perhaps the Prince could be the leader who could unite them...

However, some people voiced different opinions.

"Are you suggesting we all form an army to fight the vampires? Then how would we distribute the Blood Element Pearls after killing a vampire?" one guest asked with furrowed brows. "For example, if I fight hard against a vampire and weaken it, then someone else delivers the final blow, who does the Blood Element Pearl belong to - me or them?"

They used to not care about Blood Element Pearls.

But things were different now - Blood Element Pearls could be exchanged for points at the hotel!

"At a time like this, you're still worried about that?" another guest questioned disapprovingly. "Don't you want to kill or drive away all the vampires?"

"Heh, of course I do, but I can't ignore the Blood Element Pearl issue! This involves points! You all know how hard life is outside the hotel. What's wrong with looking out for myself? I'm not trying to take what isn't mine, I just want to know how we'd handle such situations. Is that wrong?"

The atmosphere became tense.

Many guests felt this person had a point.

While humans needed to unite now, it was also natural to look out for oneself.

Without points, they'd be kicked out of the hotel.

By then, there wouldn't even be a chance to unite with others.

Wait outside the hotel? They'd likely be captured or killed by vampires, if not die from hunger or thirst first.

"The atmosphere is getting awkward," Old Six worried, forgetting about his chips. "Sis, do you think the Prince can handle this?"

"He can," Gu Wanyin said. "Since he decided to do this, he must have thought through all possible scenarios."

Jerry couldn't help asking: "Your Highness, as he mentioned, how would we handle such situations?"

"I've already considered this," the Prince said calmly. "After each battle, you'll hand over the Blood Element Pearls to me, and I'll distribute points based on how much effort each of you put into the fight."

After the Prince finished speaking, someone laughed mockingly.

"Are you joking? How can you accurately know how much effort each of us puts in during battle? Even if you watch every fight, you only have two eyes. Can you keep track of everyone?"

"I can't," the Prince said. "That's why I've already arranged a partnership with Boss Gu."

Instantly, all eyes turned to Gu Wanyin.

Gu Wanyin smiled and gave them a little wave.

"Sis, when did you two make this arrangement? I had no idea!" Old Six asked, dumbfounded.

"I didn't know either," Bai Shuwen said.

"The Prince came to see me the day before yesterday at noon while you were having lunch in the dining room."
