Chapter 84- Team up
Chapter 84- Team up
This world was against Alatia.
She knew her status as a Princess wouldn't work on the teachers but still, placing her in the same team as those individuals whom she dislikes?
Not to talk about, one of her teammates was someone Kyle asked Alatia to be wary of.
"Can you stop making such a disgusted face? I am also not thrilled to be placed in the same team as you." Logan spat those words in a slightly annoyed tone.
Princess she might be, but it doesn't mean he has to tolerate her insult.
"Don't look at me then," Alatia replied, straight and simple. She couldn't help herself. She was placed in a team of four, which consisted of Logan, Sash, Charlotte, and the human mountain, who calls himself The Iron Wall—Casterville Aron.
The team of irregulars.
"Okay then, now that the teams have been formed, I would like to inform you about things before we dive into the Wasteland."
The instructor responsible for their practical classes stood in front of the groups and began explaining,
"Wastelands are the man-made labyrinth for the student to train against real-life threats with the chances of getting seriously injured. Although no student would die, there have been cases when students in the past, left the academy right after their first venture."
That caused many students to widen their eyes and some had their faces turned pale in fear. They had the idea that whatever happens, the teachers wouldn't let them get hurt more than an extent. But to think, students have retired from the school after their first experience?
This was terrifying.
"Now, what must you be mindful of? First, never leave your group. Even when you are going to pee take someone with you in case someone is waiting for you to show your vulnerable side. Second. Never, I said, never let go of your weapon if you are only comfortable fighting with them. Third, keep an eye on your ration and whatever you are carrying. And the last one,"
With a small grin forming on the man's face, he said, "Give your life and well-being your utmost priority."
Many nodded in reflex while some others thought of the strategy they would be adapting in the Wasteland.
The instructor gave them some time to ask him if they had any questions.
Alatia didn't bother asking anything since she had already decided her course of action. Today would be her first and last day performing a task with this team.
Suddenly, Sasha asked something that caught Alatia's attention, "Excuse me, sir, can we take our servants with us?"
'A labyrinth date with Kyle? That sounds fantastic!' Alatia inwardly exclaimed with her eyes adopting a shine that stunned Logan.
However, "Of course, not. Your servants wouldn't let you properly fight the dangers, and it would be pretty useless for you to go there if your servants ended up fighting the monsters in your stead."
Taking a small pause, the instructor added, "You need to climb out of your comfort zone to become an actual warrior."
"U-understood," Sasha responded with sudden enthusiasm appearing in her eyes.
The instructor looked around and answered every question that was asked before he told them, "You have thirty minutes to prepare. In sharp thirty minutes, meet me near the second outdoor training ground."
Alatia didn't wait for the group discussion and made her way out of the classroom.
Her destination was set and she didn't halt anywhere until she reached the cafeteria, where she promised to meet Kyle
Kyle was standing there with a bag in his hand. The bag contained supplies she would need for the exploration.
He has put some sandwiches and high-sugar candies to boost her stamina, first aid, disinfectant, water, and a comb. Since the exploration would continue until evening, she needed to be prepared.
"Did you get into a team?" His biggest fear was for Alatia not to get included in any group because of her indifferent attitude and liking toward solitary.
The smile on Alatia's face faltered. In a hesitant manner, she nodded and slowly said, "I-I got one...but there is someone in the team you don't like."
"Logan?"
Alatia nodded again her eyes falling to the ground.
Kyle heaved a sigh. He expected this. The world would force Logan to be with Alatia somehow. He couldn't fight against that but surely he trusts Alatia to maintain her distance.
Maybe she took his silence as a sign of displeasure as she hurriedly assured him, "Don't worry, tho. I will talk to the headmaster today after school, and if things don't work, I will ask Brother Edmund to write a letter to the headmaster."
Kyle raised his brows as he looked at Alatia with a surprised gaze. He wanted to tell her that it was unnecessary but he stopped. Maybe, this was the right thing? Should he let Alatia handle things?
"You don't need to worry about me, Ala. Just be yourself and remain safe out there, okay?" He softly caressed her head and suggested.
Kyle knew the extent of her love for him which cannot be swayed even if the butterfly effect is under process. He just needs to be wary of any other factor that could influence Logan's feelings for Alatia. If the Protagonist becomes infatuated with Alatia...then sadly, this world might lose its brave warrior.
"Mm...I will listen to you." Alicia smiled at him and the duo spent some time together.

After bidding farewell to Alatia, Kyle returned to the dorm with great urgency. He had to prepare so he could enter the labyrinth with the other groups without getting noticed.
The sensors situated at the entrance could only sense a presence if it had an aura, and Kyle was a non-awakened. What made him troubled was the physical surveillance. He didn't have an image of inside the labyrinth or he would have used teleportation.
He was thinking of some methods as he moved toward the dorm...only to halt suddenly upon finding Clara standing in front of the house; most probably waiting for him.
"Professor?" Kyle asked, with some wariness evident in his voice.
Clara dryly smiled at his cautiousness but she didn't say anything about it and took out a vial of potion from her pouch before handing it to Kyle.
"This potion would make you disappear for ten seconds at most."
"Invisibility potion? You discovered it?!" Kyle exclaimed. This was a very huge leap in the world of potions. Based on this potion alone, Clara could get a title of noble and numerous benefits from the Empire.
"Yes...recently, I discovered the missing ingredient and after testing it numerous times, I decided to give it to you.” Taking a pause she asked, “You are going with Alatia, right? To protect her?"
Kyle sobered up hearing her words, a little surprised at how well she knew him.
Even though she was a Professor, Kyle admitted, "Yes, I am. And thank you for your help. I will make sure to repay you one day."
Saying so, Kyle made his way inside the house since he was short on time.
Clara followed his figure with her eyes until he disappeared behind the doors.
Her soft smile twisted into a grin, and her eyes gave out the impression of a woman who was experiencing euphoria.
"Oh Kyle, this is so perfect. For you to be indebted to me~”
