CH.537 Installs and Status Updates
So, install day. I decided not to go with an install this time, mainly because both Dark Chain and Restraining Sword Barrage will evolve into unique skills when I do the install, so I want to level them up first. So I may or may not be excessively leveling them up. Sure it will cause some disconnect between the skills power and my own skill with it, but luckily they aren’t that dangerous of skills.
Also, upgrading a skill I already got as an install from an extra skill to a unique skill can cause plenty of strain on my body. Especially whatever ‘card space’ I have for installs. I could even die from it if we aren’t careful.
So because of that, I’m not taking an install, until I’m ready to upgrade one of the skills.
Alice on the other hand took an install of Mirror Force. It resulted in an extra skill called Magic Reflection. With it, she can reflect magic back at the caster.

As for Lua, the skill she picked wasn’t either of the two I offered her. She instead wanted Bad Reaction to Simochi for the skill Corrupted Healing.
It does what you expect it to do. It turns healing magic into something that will damage the target instead. And since Lua has the Divine Lifesaver title, all of her healing magic is 5x as effective as it normally would be.
And while at LV.1 it isn’t 100% efficient, with a few levels and some practice, it can do a lot. Especially since healing that is turned into damage by a skill like that cannot be resisted with Defense, or even most equipment, so all the damage Lua will do with it will effectively have 100% penetration.

Next up, Ria. She got the Silver Wing install, resulting in the skill Holy Dragon’s Wings.
It is a stupidly powerful AoE healing skill that has a super short range, extremely high mana cost, but it heals very quickly. And when I said the mana drain is extreme, I mean it is over 2000 mana per minute, and that is while only healing Ria herself. With more people, the mana drain is even more.
The skill also turns Ria’s usual dragon wings into angelic ones while active.

Ria also got the Priestess title out of it. The title allows her to learn Holy Magic. It is just an inferior version of Lua’s Saint title.
Luckily both Albus and Lua could teach her Holy Magic if she wanted to learn it, so we wouldn’t run into the same situation as we did with Lua, where she held the title for a long time before we had someone who could instruct her.
Next up, Cailie and Calming Magic.
You knew it already. It resulted in a skill called Calming Song, which is a mild mind control type skill that can calm down basically anyone. And it works on monsters, so it is great for taming, as a calm monster is much more likely to get tamed.
A calm person is also easier to mind control, and Cailie’s Charming Voice can already charm a person. And while charm isn’t mind control, I can definitely find a good mind control skill for Cailie to get next.

Next up would have been Wilma, but I didn’t have her Xyz based install fully researched yet, so she’ll have to wait a bit longer. I’ll also summon the Xyz monsters I’ve gotten, so I can advance with the Xyz challenge, and maybe I can get some cards that will help me with that.
So instead, Unika. She got a Metamorphosis install, for the skill Fox Form. Yes. She can use the skill to transform into an actual multi-tailed fox. It is a cool skill and can definitely help with movement, but I’m still not 100% sure why Unika wanted it. Maybe because it is cool?

Now, just one more install to go, and for that, I’ll have to teleport.
After using Teleport to Seal to get to the Dragon’s coast, I met up with the true body of Janina. This was going to be her first install, and I was a bit nervous how she would react to it.
Mainly, will it force an immediate evolution onto her. Because it might. Dragons are strange like that.
But waiting around wasn’t going to solve anything, so I just installed Metalmorph into her.
She took it well, barely reacting.
She didn’t evolve, but her bronze scales took on an even more metal-like quality.
{... Interesting. It isn’t too different from a dragon scale blessing. Likely equal to a blessing from a young adult dragon.} She told me.
“Will it be a problem?” I asked.
{No. My next evolution will come slightly sooner, but only by a few months. But for a younger dragon, something like that might force an immediate evolution.}
“Well, that’s good, I suppose.”
{Yes. Now transform. I require cuddles.}
“... really?”
{Yes. My other self gets them, but that isn’t satisfactory enough. You are here, so I will keep you for the night.}
I just barely had time to use Draconic Body to transform myself, before Janina’s tail wrapped around my body and brought me to her, like I was some dragon shaped teddy bear.
Well, at least she isn’t squeezing too hard, so it could be worse.
